Connecting a Stellantis Vehicle to Voltaback

Written by Marine Bourdain

Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Jeep vehicles from the Stellantis group work with Voltaback, but need a few specific steps to ensure a stable connection and accurate reimbursement.

Stellantis vehicles share their charging data through the manufacturer's API (MyPeugeot / MyCitroën / MyDS, etc.). This requires the onboard software to be up to date and the vehicle to have been driven to sync the data. Without these conditions, Voltaback can't identify your home charging sessions.

1/ Check the requirements before connecting

  • The vehicle must be connected to Wi-Fi or 3G/4G. The update downloads over the network. Make sure you're in an area with good coverage, or connect the vehicle to a known Wi-Fi hotspot.

  • Engine off, ignition on. The engine must not be running, but the ignition needs to be on so the dashboard screen stays active throughout the process.

  • Vehicle unplugged from charging. Unplug the charging cable before starting the update. An active charging session could interrupt the process.

2/ Update your vehicle's software

Critical step — must be done inside the vehicle, from the onboard touchscreen (not the smartphone app). Once installation starts, the vehicle will be unusable for about 15 minutes, and the process can't be paused or cancelled.

  1. On the dashboard's home screen, swipe left to see the app wall, then tap Settings.

  2. Select "Updates" in the side menu.

  3. If an update is available, it appears under "Pending updates." Tap it to start the download.

  4. Once the download is complete, a pop-up reads "Download complete. Tap here to install." Tap it to continue.

  5. A confirmation screen appears: the update is ready to install, the vehicle will be disabled during installation, and it will take about 15 minutes.

  6. Tap INSTALL to confirm. A progress bar runs to 100%, then "Installation successful" appears. The screen then returns to the home page automatically.

  7. Let the vehicle go to sleep completely (screens off, no activity), then either turn the ignition on again or take a short drive to trigger data syncing.

3/ Connect your vehicle to Voltaback

  • Authorize access via your manufacturer account: you'll be redirected to your brand's official login page. Log in with your MyPeugeot / MyCitroën / etc. credentials and click "Authorize access" to share your vehicle's data with Voltaback.

  • After authorizing, drive your vehicle at least twice, for a minimum of 20 minutes each. These trips trigger the first sync between the vehicle and Voltaback.

If your connection isn't established within 48 hours, our team is alerted automatically. We handle the diagnosis — including with the manufacturer's app — and get back to you with a clear, quick solution.
