Yes, Voltaback is fully compatible with solar panel installations.
We already support several users who have solar panels at home.
How does Voltaback detect the charge?
If part of the electricity comes from solar panels, it might not show up on the Linky meter. But the resulting charging session is still detected through the vehicle's data, which reports:
the energy fed into the battery
the start and end of the charging session
the vehicle's location (at home or not)
Voltaback then applies the loss coefficient learned from other charging sessions detected on the Linky meter, for charges that didn't use your solar energy (for example, at night). This allows us to precisely certify the energy actually used to charge the vehicle, regardless of where it came from.
What price is used for reimbursement?
Even with solar panels, the price applied is the grid electricity price, based on the employee's contract, the rate option (peak/off-peak hours, etc.), or a flat rate if that's what the employer has chosen. See "How Does Voltaback Determine the Price of Home Charging?" for more.
